Rules

Remember kindergarten? School added to the rules that you had learned at home. Don't touch another student, no bad name calling, raise your hand if you have a question, don't run in the hallway, stay in line. It took some time but you learned the rules.

As you got older you learned more rules. Sports and driving rules. 50 miles an hour speed limit. Buses, this lane only, don't drive drunk, make a siginal to change lanes.

You learned more rules when you went to work.

Rules are usually for your safety and for those around you. When rules are broken, we usually get into trouble. Drunk driving has caused the death of thousands of people, especially in the USA. MADD has made a huge dent in the prosecution of drunk drivers, those who didn't follow the rules.

Now America has a huge problem with illegals in our country. The main blame falls on those who hire illegals. Big corporations and small businesses. It is against the law to hire them but continues because companies don't have to pay illegals the same as they do American citizens. Most illegals don't pay taxes but send millions of dollars back to thier home country. Companies who refuse to hire illegals are at a disadvantage.

Because so many are willing to break the rules, the USA is having mounting problems and it needs to stop.

I do understand why most illegals come to America for a better life but we can't take everyone in. My neighbors are from the former Soviet Union and could have come here legally years ago but they wanted to do the right thing. After the Soviet Union broke up, they feared for their lives everyday. They waited 9 years to come here legally. How is it fair that when they followed the rules and waited that so many can come here illegally by just crossing our border or staying for a limited visit? We don't even know how many people are here illegally, who they are or where they are.

Has America turned it's back on following the rules and obeying the law? You decide.

Art Linkletter

Art Linkletter was very popular in the early days of televison. He had a show called House Party and use to interview children on "Kids Say The Darndest Things". The show was so funny. He had a way of interracting with the children that brought out the cutest sayings. Lots of Bible questions and hilarious answers from the little tykes.

I say Art inteviewed once and he was asked what his favorite answer from the children was. Here it is.

Art. "Steve, you look so very sad. What's wrong?"

Steve. "My dog died yesterday."

Art. "I'm so sorry about your dog but I'm sure he is up in heaven with God."

Steve got this strange look on his face and said "Why would God want a dead dog?"

Art Linkletter died today at the age of 97. He was a fine Christian man who was always positive and made America laugh.

May he rest in peace.

Do Words Have Real Meaning Anymore?

Yesterday, the news was made that Richard Bluenthal, Attorney General from Connecticut, had said, on more than one occasion, that he had served in Vietnam. "When I came back from Vietnam and I was spat upon when I returned from Vietnam." As it turns out, he never did serve in the Vietnam War but received several deferrmants to attend school. Bluenthal is running for Democrat Senator in Connecticut.

In a press conference today, in a crowd of veterans, he said he had misspoke and takes full responsible for his actions. Many in the audiance applauded. I repeat. Many in the audiance applauded! Applauded him for what? For lying?

What ever happened to the truth? If he had said "I lied about serving in the Vietnam War and I'm sorry. I take full responsibility for my lies" perhaps I could better understand the applause. But no. I misspoke. How does one misspeak about serving in a war? That would be like me saying "I gave birth to a 75 pound elephant last week!" A lie is a lie is a lie.

I believe in forgivness and redemtion when someone is truly contrite but to say that he misspoke is so disturbing. What about the men who actually did serve in Vietnam, many giving their lives? Many of them would like to actually spit in his face now, and few would blame them.

Am I the only one who believes that words are important?

There are no freedoms without those willing to fight for them.

Richard Bluenthat is the worst kind of coward!

Defining Expressionism

Expressionism

An artistic style of painting that departs from the conventions of Realism and Naturalism, and hopes to convey inner experience by distorting rather than directly representing natural images.

The highly personal visions communicated in the paintings of Vincent van Gogh are early examples of expressionism. Edvard Munch and Georges Rouault are considered expressionist painters.

What A Major Mess

America's southern border has been open for far too long, inviting Mexicans to enter freely. They risk their lives to come to the "Land of milk and honey" and who can blame them? The Mexican government doesn't care if they leave their homeland to come to America. They send billions of dollars back home to family and friends. In the meantime, they are draining America. We pay for schooling, free medical services and to imprison those illegals who break the law. Now that several past presidents have ignored our own immagration laws, the question is, what do we do with all of those who are here illegally?

Close the border now. Why they haven't used consertina wire at the top of the wall, like they do on prison fences, is beyond me. Seal the border and fine those businesses and corporations who hire illegals. Big fat fines. No work available, why bother to cross the border?

Not sealing the border reminds me of a couple I know. They have five children of their own and have decided not to have any more. They don't have the patience or the money for more children but they refuse to use birth control. Does that make sense?

Of course, the Democrats and Liberals in the United States want the Hispanic vote and therefore they are reluctant to do anything about our illegal immagration problem.

In the meantime, more will come, more states will go bust and the problem will continue to mushroom.

More babies on the way! What a mess!!!

Non-violent Pledge

The left in America are hoping that someone in the Tea Party movement or other Conservative group, will commit some violent crime in protest. Every American has the right to Peaceful Protest. It is our right!

Martin Luther King Jr. is one of my heros, not just for what he did but the way he did it. PEACEFULLY!

Glenn Beck has a non-violent pledge that he urges people to sign and to protest in that manner, with love and in a peaceful manner.

Am I the only one who thinks this is a good idea?

I have signed the pledge and plan to follow it.

Glennbeck.com......Go to the site and sign the pledge, if you agree with it.

What Does It All Mean Anyway?

Have you seen the latest Nike commercial with Tiger Wood's father supposidly speaking from the grave?

Am I the only one who thinks the commercial stinks like an old pair of dirty Nike shoes?

Tiger's father cheated on Tiger's mother so I don't think he was the best role model father in the world. So Tiger, you are the greatest golfer ever. But you failed, big time, as a husband and a father. For many of us, that over-shadows your ability on the green.

Nike and Tiger.

What a pair...pardon the pun!

Old Bill Cosby Clip

I saw an old clip of Bill Cosby reflecking on his son, Enis (Forgive for not remembering if his name was Enis or Ellis)

Bill said that his son once told him that everyone talked about changing the world. But he thought that if you change yourself you are changing the world.

Change yourself to be the best you can be.

Am I the only one who thinks this is a noble philosophy?

Blame The Judges

Last week another body of a dead teenager was found. She was an honor student who had been jogging when she disappeared. A few days later, another dead teenager"s body was found. They had both been raped. It is believed that they were raped and murdered by the same man, a convicted sex offender. He was convicted of sexually abusing and beating a thirteen year old girl who survived the attack and escaped. He received a five year sentence only to rape and murder after he was released.

It breaks my heart everytime I hear of another child being abused, raped and murdered. How the loved ones put one foot in front of the other after this happens, I can't even imagine.

Most of the time, these rapists serve very little time in prison and thier violence escalates to murder. The police do an excellent job of finding and arresting them, the prosecuters bring charges and then a Liberal judge lets them off with little time served.

This outrage has to stop. Bill O'Reilly of Fox News, has called these judges out and showed thier picture on The Factor. I have written to some of these judges to ask them why they do not give these creeps more jail time.

I hold them accountable and we as a nation must do more to protest the judges who are not protecting our children. I don't know how they can sleep at night when they have given a rapist a light sentence and when he is released he goes on to rape and often murder, leaving another family devastated.

These judges have blood on their hands.
