Do you have a job? So you receive a paycheck? Where it says withholdings, does it say Social Security? That means that everytime you get paid, our government takes money out of your salary to help you when you are a senior.

I have asked several (and I mean a lot) of people if they know where that money goes. They all said they believed there was a vault or holdings where their Social Security earings went. That it would be there for you when you retire.

Most of us didn't know that as soon as our government gets it's hot little fists on that money, they spend it. That's right. They aren't holding it for you at all. They have been spending it all along. So now, There isn't a lot of money in the vault to give to Americans when they retire and they are ready to draw thier Social Security Retirement. How naive we all have been. I don't know if they ever started holding it, and then when they needed money, started dipping into it or if they have been spending it from the start. What I do know is it is YOUR money. You have been paying into it for future use.

It proves once again that our Government knows how to do one thing really well and that is to spend money. Forget that it wasn't thiers to spend. They have done it anyway. IT IS NOT OUR FAULT THAT SOCIAL SECURITY IS GOING BROKE. It is our elected officials fault. They have taken what was rightfully yours and spent it. From where I come from, that is called stealing and I will wager that it is called stealing from wherever you are from also.

Retirement may seem like a long way off for you, but believe me, unless God takes you from this earth before you retire, it will be here before you know it.

We need to get this changed. Call, write, speak to your elected officials. Who knows, maybe some honest politician will listen.

Now wouldn't that be a novel idea? (An honest politician/one who would listen, both)
